Our Mission

Wine Country Runs, founded in 1997, is a non-profit whose sole purpose is to support local charities and youth sports organizations in Northern San Luis Obispo County.  The Half Marathon is set along picturesque country roads and vineyards in beautiful Paso Robles, California.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where and when will packet pickup be?

A: Packet pick up with be at Paris Valley Road Estate Winery at 5625 East Highway 46 in PasoRobles. Please check back for further information as we get closer to race day.

Q: Can I do a wine tasting on the day of packet pick up?

A: Paris Valley Road Estate Winery is open 7 days a week, 11am-5pm. Walk-in’s are welcome for parties of 6 or less. If you prefer to make a reservation, please visit their website.

Q: Does the half marathon event have pace runners?

A: No, there will not be pace runners. We will have one lead vehicle on the half marathon course to assist the fastest runner.

Q: What do I need to bring on race day?

A: Please wear your running bib in a visible location and don’t forget your complimentary breakfast ticket. If you plan to alcohol, please bring a photo ID to verify age, and a method of payment.  Wine will be sold the day of, please plan to bring payment for purchase. No cash, please.

Q: Is there a mile marker where a family member/friend can watch a runner, and then make it back to the finish line?

A: No, unfortunately there isn’t. This is due to certain roads being closed for the race.

Q: Are strollers, bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, or dogs allowed on the course?

A: Strollers are permitted on the 10k course, but not the half marathon course. Please use caution. No bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, or dogs will be allowed on the course. This is for everyone’s safety, and we appreciate your understanding.

Q: Where will race results be posted?

A: Race results will be linked to a QR code posted around the venue. Later, we will link race results to our website.

Q: Can additional drink or burrito tickets be purchased?

A: A breakfast ticket will be included with your registration, and additional breakfast tickets can be purchased at the time of registration. All drinks can be purchased on the day of the event at the venue.

Q: Is there a group registration form that I can fill out for my company?

A: Yes, the more the merrier! Contact us, and we’ll get you the form.

Q: Will there be on-site, same-day registration?

A: Yes. You may register at Paris Valley Road Estate Winery, 5625 East CA-46, Paso Robles, Saturday from 11-2 pm, or Sunday beginning at 6 am at the race venue, CaliPaso Winery & Villa. Please bring your photo ID and form of payment.

Q: Are there overnight accommodations at the race venue?

A: Yes. Participants and guests can book rooms directly with CaliPaso Winery & Villa by visiting their website.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: Sorry, no refunds or transfers are allowed.

Q: Will there be aid stations on the course?

A: Yes. There will be 5 aid stations located on the half marathon course and 1 aid station on the 10K course. Many of our beneficiaries staff these stations and make the race so much fun!

Q: Are pets allowed on the course?

A: No. Please, no pets at the venue either.

Q: Where do I park?

A: Please navigate towards CaliPaso Villa & Winery on Buena Vista Drive. There will be event parking signs and staff to assist you to the parking lots.

Q: Do you have a way we can check in our gear?

A: We do not have a gear check system, however, the parking lot is close enough to the starting line so that you can put your gear in your car, and get back to the start line.
Please note: do not leave any valuables, cash, jewelry in your car.

Q: Is the Wine Country Run event USATF sanctioned?

A: Yes, the WCR event is USATF sanctioned.

Q: What methods of payment are accepted at the event?

A: Methods of payment accepted are credit cards and Venmo. No cash, please.
